Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you already know, we have decided to keep our wedding ceremony small and simple. For that reason, there are many people important to us who we will be unable to invite to the ceremony and reception. In order to make sure everyone has an opportunity to celebrate with us, we will be having a casual backyard BBQ over the summer that everyone will be welcome to join us for. It will be a combination engagement party, wedding shower and pre-wedding celebration!
It is our hope that everyone will be understanding and respectful of our wishes. You have all played very significant roles in our lives.

OUR STORY
We met on the National Mall...
Mike and Amy met playing kickball on the National Mall in 2011, when their teams got matched up together. They began dating shortly after.
After dating for a year, Mike moved to Philadelphia for graduate school, earning his Master's in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. Amy and Mike continued to date, and when he graduated in 2014 they moved in together.
Together they have a house in Northeast Washington, DC where they live with their goofy dog, Hudson.

The Engagement...
In the weeks before their 6 year dating anniversary, Mike and Amy took a trip to the Canadian Rockies with Amy's parents. A few days into their camping and hiking adventure, Mike got down on one knee and asked Amy to marry him. Even though they had been together for so long, Mike hid his plan well and it was a complete surprise for Amy. She, of course, said yes!
